Escribiéndote, me encontré

Synopsis

Nina Sulé has been writing letters for more than ten years, almost always with no intention of sending them. Escribiéndote, me encontré brings together twenty-three of those letters, each addressed to a person identified only by their initial, arranged as an emotional journey that begins with irrational attraction and ends in reconciliation with oneself.

The book opens with a farewell letter to someone who 'doesn't deserve anything', moves through unfiltered confessions of desire, fury at a man who played with her hopes while dressing himself up as Prince Charming, and the vulnerability of someone bold enough to ask outright: '¿vas a follarme o no?' One letter is written twice—once resigned, then rewritten in brackets with an ending that actually works—and in that gesture lies the book's central argument: that we can reinterpret our own story.

Not every letter is about romantic love. One is addressed to a friend or family member whose relationship with Sulé broke off without explanation; another to the person who walked with her through 'the hardest road' of her life, most likely a mental health crisis; another, the shortest in the book, is a letter to herself cast in the image of a fire that must never be put out.

The book closes with a letter addressed to no one in particular—to whoever is reading—which opens everything that preceded it outward: a list of wishes sent 'like messages in a bottle', expecting no reply, only with the certainty that they will reach whoever needs them.

Escribiéndote, me encontré does not offer a manual on how to love well. It offers the honest, sometimes uncomfortable chronicle of a woman learning—letter by letter—to tell the fire that was destroying her from the one that, in the end, keeps her alive.

Escribiéndote, me encontré is a debut collection of twenty-three confessional letters written over more than a decade by Spanish author Nina Sulé, most of which were never sent to their recipients. Structured as direct epistolary addresses to former lovers, friends, and versions of herself, the book traces an emotional arc from toxic infatuation to hard-won self-love, using fire as its unifying metaphor: the fire that destroys versus the fire that simply warms. Written in raw, sexually explicit, humor-laced prose poetry, the collection sits at the intersection of Instagram-era confessional poetry (comparable to Rupi Kaur's international readership) and the growing appetite for emotionally direct, non-fiction-adjacent narratives about heartbreak and self-discovery. One standout formal device—a letter rewritten twice, first resigned then reimagined with a different ending—offers a distinctive hook for foreign editors seeking fresh structural ideas within the crowded confessional-poetry category. Published by Luzia, an imprint focused on mentoring emerging authors, the book benefits from a fully developed authorial voice despite being a first work. Its short, self-contained letter format makes it highly adaptable for excerpting, social media promotion, and audio adaptation. We believe it holds strong potential in markets with an active young-adult and new-adult poetry readership, particularly where confessional, unfiltered female voices around heartbreak have found commercial success.

Nina Sulé

Barcelona · 1994

She has written for as long as she can remember, but it was letters that became her refuge and her most honest way of looking at herself. For more than ten years she poured into them everything she needed to say: loves that came and went, goodbyes that hurt, awakenings that changed everything. Escribiéndote, me encontré is her first book, an intimate work in which the personal becomes universal. The letters she never sent are also the ones many readers might have written themselves. She shares these pages now with the conviction that vulnerability illuminates, and that writing can be another way of healing.
