Irma o esa persistente calle de París
Durii Editorial · Contemporánea · Narrativa · Adultos (+18 años)
Synopsis
It could easily have been another fake profile, the kind that cluttered his feeds constantly—yet something about her struck Pedro as different. Pale eyes, silken hair, lips the colour of red. Nothing else. Only Madrid, and a name: Alicia.
They talk on Messenger about classic films. They watch the same ones over and over and pick them apart together. Above all, they lose themselves in the rue Casanova of Paris from «Irma la dulce», Billy Wilder's masterpiece. Then one day she writes: «We may never see each other again.» His reply is a desperate «why». The messages stop coming. Pedro sets out to find Alicia—through Madrid first, and then, why not, further, wherever the world leads. Perhaps she is waiting for him on that persistent street in Paris.
This novel is a journey toward a reality that may not exist. It is leaving the past behind to spend your future searching for an ideal you have lost. It is the slow recognition that what we live day to day may be every bit as fictional as the plot of any novel or film.
