Sonia Arias de la Cruz

Born between La Mancha and Madrid, now settled in Cuenca. She teaches law and writes in the hours she steals from sleep. Her short stories appear in the anthologies Personajes de Novela (2016) and Madrid en Feria (2016), and she wrote for the blog Entre libros, relatos y otros cuentos (2017), which began life in a Lisbon apartment. Every autumn she returns to the world of Amélie (2001) and other quiet films with something extraordinary tucked inside. She is drawn to museums, music, theatre, and books in which nothing seems to happen — yet they go straight through you.
